Kipona River Festival

Every Labor Day Weekend the City of Harrisburg hosts the Kipona Festival to celebrate the majestic Susquehanna River that is an iconic attraction for PA’s Capital City.

The FREE outdoor festival runs 3-Days along Riverfront Park and extends onto City Island with unique food, live music on 3 stages, local artists, locally crafted beer, Native American Pow-Wow and other special family-friendly events, culminated by a massive fireworks display to close out the weekend. The event will celebrate its 103rd year in 2019.

The Kipona Festival features more than 40 food vendors, 3 live music stages with more than 30 bands, Artist Village with handmade arts and crafts, Biergarten featuring Zeroday & The Millworks, Native American Pow-Wow, Festival of India, canoe races, crab cake eating contest, children’s festival, carnival games, and charity Rubber Duck Derby. Fireworks are the traditional commencement to the 3-Day festival.
