In its 28th year, Lehigh Valley Pride, put on by the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, takes place from noon to 6 p.m. on August 15 on the grounds of the Jewish Community Center of the Lehigh Valley. The event features an interfaith service as well as live entertainment.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “#YouAreIncluded, which is what the festival has always been about — inclusion, equity, and celebrating culture with community and allies.
The interfaith service, hosted by the Bethlehem Interfaith Group, begins at 10:30 a.m., before the actual festivities kick off. It’ll feature a guest sermon from the Rev. Brandan Robertson, author of eight theology books on LGBTQ+ inclusion.
The entertainment for this year’s Pride will be on one stage, instead of the usual two. Headlining Pride this year are a couple of drag stars from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” — Kylie Sonique Love from Season 2 of the competition show and Ariel Versace from Season 11. Also headlining the festival is multi-genre singer-songwriter Erin McKeown.
The festival will have accessibility features including ASL interpretation on stage, ADA restrooms, and reserved seating for older adults and people with disabilities.
