Tunkhannock Celebrates History and Community at Annual Founders Day — Downtown Tunkhannock will come alive on Saturday, June 27th, as the community gathers for its highly anticipated annual Founders Day celebration. The day-long festival promises an array of activities highlighting local heritage, culture, and family fun. The heart of the borough will transform into a vibrant street fair featuring diverse vendors, regional food favorites, and live musical performances throughout the day. Families can head to the expanded Family Fun Zone, which offers interactive activities and entertainment tailored for children of all ages. New to the festival this year is a dedicated tasting area. Visitors can sample craft selections from a regional distillery, a hard cider maker, and a local winery. This exciting new section will also feature a curated food truck. Car enthusiasts can look forward to the Sherwood Chevrolet Car Show, showcasing a premier lineup of classic and modern vehicles. History buffs should make a point to visit the Dietrich Theater, which is hosting exclusive America 250 exhibits to honor the nation’s upcoming semiquincentennial. The festivities will conclude under the stars with a special “Shakespeare in the Park” performance in the evening, offering a perfect cultural finish to a day dedicated to community spirit. Admission to the festival grounds is free, and events will run rain or shine.
